The group of NZ Zoroastrian youth attending the 8th World Zoroastrian Youth Congress, in London in July 2023, are working together to collect funds with the aim of subsidising expenses associated with attending the congress. Being part of the NZ Zoroastrian Community, I am supporting our youth in this healthy and fun activity. I know I am not in the best physical condition, but it is important for us as adults, to support our youth when they take an initiative to do a fundraising activity. Please help me fundraise by supporting me in my endeavour. I am not just taking part in the event but am also attempting to complete this 5km run/walk in 40 minutes. According to a health website the average walker completes 5 km in 40 to 50 minutes. (https://www.healthline.com/health/exercise-fitness/average-5k-time#by-age-and-sex) I strongly believe that we need to support our youth, as it encourages them to get more involved in the Zoroastrian community. I'm so excited to be going to the congress, any little bit helps make my trip there a little easier!

My story : Kia Ora, My name is Jehann and am very excited to be apart of the NextGen Youth congress group. I have always had passion for my Zoroastrian culture and the Youth congress in London will allow me to better understand the true meaning of being a Zoroastrian. I have been lucky enough to attend the previous youth congress in LA which was an experience I will never forget, meeting young Zarthosti from all across the globe. As a group our goal is to be able to fundraise so that many young New Zealand Zoroastrians can create memories and continue on our culture and faith for future generations.

Hi there! While thinking of a message to write I started asking myself, why do I want to attend the 8th Zoroastrian Youth Congress and why do I want my fellow Zarthostis of NZ to come with me? The answer I came to, and I\'ll try to keep it short, is that I don\'t want myself, my generation and the generations to come, to lose the knowledge and history of our rich culture and religion. I don\'t want to see thousands of years vanish to nothing. I have previously attended 2 youth congresses, one at home in NZ and the other in LA. The knowledge and connections provided to me during these were rich and left me wanting more. And as I find the more I grow up, the more I can take in, with maturity and gratitude. The aim of our fundraising is that we can get as many people to come, so they too can discuss and listen with Zoroastrians from all corners of the world!! I thank you for your time and support!! Kia Ora, I'm Zariab Karkaria, currently in my final year of mechanical engineering at the Auckland University of Technology. I am currently working towards my Private Pilots License at the Auckland Aero Club. As an ordained priest it would be an amazing opportunity for me to pray at the opening Jashan ceremony, representing the New Zealand youth at the World Zoroastrian Youth Congress in London 2023. I was lucky enough to perform the Jashan at the previous youth congress in LA which was a very humbling experience and a great way to connect with other young priests from around the world. Our goal is to get as many youth in our community to attend the congress and represent New Zealand and in order to achieve this we want to get them involved with fundraising activities to make this once in a lifetime trip possible.

Hi everyone! I'm Zane, a Master's student from the University of Auckland working at the Brain Dynamics Lab with goals and dreams just like everyone else. A goal I had a while back was to attend one of the World Zoroastrian Youth Congresses and become immersed in the knowledge and experiences that would be provided to me while making lifelong friends throughout my attendance. Prior to attending the 7th WZYC my knowledge about our culture was scarce but going to LA and spending that time surrounded by great company fostered a dream to maintain that experience and bring it back to New Zealand so that future generations could enjoy what we did. That goal led to a dream which I helped make into a reality by founding ZANZ Next Gen with others, a youth social group that fostered a sense of the Parsi culture all the way in this small corner of the world. By committing myself to several activities, leadership roles, and seeing the merit of community identity I am confident that attending the next congress will be another great experience for all. As a result, I want to attend the next WZYC in London to help facilitate the next group of young Zarthoshtis that may also want to learn more and become more involved in community activities and events. By creating the Next Gen Congress Fundraising Group, we aim to get as many group members over as possible so that others can also enjoy what was graciously provided to us by those who came before us and held the same initiative. The young Zoroastrians here in NZ want to go to the youth congress in in 2023. I believe we must support their fundraising effort to earn money to subsidise the cost of the cost associated with going to the congress.

Hi everyone, My name is Delshad and I'm really excited to be part of the Next Gen Congress Group, which aims to get as many Zarthosti youth across to the congress in London next year! From a young age, I've always been fascinated about our lineage and rich ethnic history, and luckily my parents have provided me with many opportunities to learn about my identity, history and homeland, Iran. Naturally my passion for our culture and community led me to attend the past two congresses (New Zealand in 2015, and LA in 2019) which has continued to provide me with new learning opportunities, as well as a chance to met Zarthosti from every corner of the world, share experiences and make life-long friends. Over the past 2 years, I've been able to give back to the local New Zealand community through my leadership role in ZANZ Next Gen, where we organize and host social events for our NZ Zarthosti youth to come together. As part of the Next Gen Congress Group, I look forward to get as many Zarthosti youth to the 2023 Congress as possible, so that we can continue to enjoy and learn about our community together at this iconic once-in-4-year-event!
